Blogging once a week

Published 3 March, 2026.

I’ve been inspired by the latest episode of the Django Chat podcast to set myself a goal—write a blog post every week.

Part of the reason I’m doing this is selfish. I want to build a profile. I know I’m good at what I do; I know I know what I’m talking about (when it comes to Django); but does a random person who comes across this site know? I’m hoping to build up a body of work that demonstrates this.

I’m making this goal for altruistic reasons too. I love the Python and Django communities, but I find it difficult to contribute to them in a meaningful way. I’m hoping that I can put little nuggets out there which other folks can discover. I very occasionally check the analytics for this site and am always happy to see that there’s a trickle of traffic finding my content. Hopefully that will grow as I post more.

I also just enjoy writing. I don’t get much of an opportunity to write, so I’m setting a goal to change that.

So I’m making this public with the hope that’ll help me keep at it. Will I come to regret this? Check back here in a few weeks.
